Keep Your PUP Calm this July 4th

For HUMANS, 4th of July is a celebration. For PUPS, 4th of July is a nightmare.

Loud noises, large crowds, and flashing lights are a catalyst for anxiety in dogs.

In fact, 30% more dogs run away on the 4th of July out of pure panic.

So how can you ensure your pup stays safe and calm this 4th of July?

  1. Try a Calming Supplement

Give your #FBF YUP PUP 20-30 minutes before the festivities to promote relaxation during 4th of July fireworks and BBQ’s. YUP PUP’s hemp treats reduce anxiety for up to 6 hours, so you both can enjoy the celebration, without the stress.

  1. Keep your #FBF indoors

Whether you’re throwing the celebration or attending, the safest place for your pup to be on the 4th of July is indoors. With the stress of large crowds and loud noises, it’s easy for your dog to get freaked out. To ensure your pup won’t run away, keep your pup indoors. If staying inside is not an option, make sure your ID and microchip are up to date.

  1. Tire your PUP Out

Take a long walk or play a game of fetch before the Fireworks. A tired pup is less likely to react to loud noises, bright lights and new smells.

  1. Distract your PUP

Enrichment toys and puzzles are an awesome tool to help your pup keep busy. If your pup is not food/play motivated, try white noise from the TV, radio or fan to mask the sound of the fireworks and draw their focus elsewhere.

Remember to look for signs of stress in your dogs.
