PUP Project: Holiday Baking With Beau

YUP! It’s that time of the year again. Time to bake!

This year, while you’re baking cookies for Santa, and cakes for your neighbor, why not bake some for our furry-best-friend’s too!

We concocted the PAW-fect recipe that you and your pup can enjoy together!

Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup regular rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened chopped dried cranberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 small egg
  • 1/8 cup honey
  • 1/8 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened greek yogurt

Directions

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F.

Step 2: In a bowl, combine flour, oats, cranberries, baking powder, and cinnamon.

Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, honey, and coconut oil.

Step 4: Add wet ingredients to flour and stir to combine. Add water as needed until you have firm dough.

Step 5: Roll out dough into a sheet (about ¼ inch thick). Use a cookie cutter of your choice to cut out cookies and place on your non-stick baking pan. .

Step 6: Bake cookies for about 30 minutes. Turn off oven and let cookies cool.

Step 7:  Drizzle yogurt on top of cookies as icing and let stand until it’s set (about 10 minutes).

Step 8: Top with Peanut Butter Yup Pup treat! (optional, but preferred)

Important Notes:

  • Do NOT substitute raisins for cranberries. Raisins/grapes are toxic for dogs.
  • Cranberries should be eaten in moderation
  • Store in room temperature for up to 14 days or freeze for up to three months.
